1.56.010 Publication required.1

Every ordinance passed by the city council of the city of Hoquiam and signed by the mayor, and every ordinance that shall be passed over the objection of the mayor, shall, before it takes effect, be published one time in the official newspaper of the city of Hoquiam which shall be held to be its last publication; and shall take effect five days from and after the date of such publication, whether expressly so provided in such ordinance or not. (Ord. 103 § 1, 1899).

1.56.020 Finance director – Endorsement – Date of publication.

The finance director shall endorse on such ordinance, and enter in the margin of the record thereof, the date of its publication. (Ord. 103 § 2, 1899).

1.56.030 Uniformity of style.

(1) The city attorney shall provide for a uniform style and form of the Hoquiam City Code by making minor corrections to ordinances submitted for filing which do not affect the sense, meaning, effect, or substance of an ordinance.

(2) Such changes include: renumbering, relettering, capitalizing, punctuation, dividing provisions of the code, and correcting omissions, or captions.

(3) The city attorney may substitute a current title of an agency, bureau, commission, or committee to accord with changes of titles or duties enacted by law or ordinance.

(4) The city attorney may substitute references to a title, chapter, or section of the Hoquiam City Code to accord with changes of the Hoquiam City Code enacted by ordinance. (Ord. 93-11, 1993).
