1.61.010 Determination.

When the mayor and council, pursuant to the watershed management plan in effect at any given time, determine certain timber should be logged, the proper documents and instruments shall be prepared for each sale by the city forester and city attorney. (Ord. 97-22 § 1, 1997; Ord. 95-1 § 1, 1995).

1.61.020 Method of sale.

Each sale shall be by such method as the mayor and council find to be the most effective in maximizing the profit to the city. A sale of timber may be by sealed bids and/or public auction as set forth in HMC 1.64.040, or it may be accomplished through a public works contract for the removal and hauling of the timber, followed by a sale of the harvested timber to the party which, in the judgment of the council, represents the best available market for the timber at that time. 1.61.030 Use of proceeds.

The proceeds from the sale of the watershed forest products shall be deposited in the water and sewer fund and the expenditure and use of these funds shall be restricted to the following purposes only:

(1) The operation and maintenance of watershed lands, city reservoirs and city dams to assure potable water;

(2) Capital expenditures for the water and sewer departments to ensure service reliability and efficiency;

(3) Studies or plans for capital improvement projects in water and sewer departments;

(4) All bond costs of the water and sewer departments;

(5) Support of the operating funds of the water and sewer departments for fiscal year 2004. (Ord. 03-16 § 1, 2003; Ord. 99-27 § 1, 1999; Ord. 97-22 § 3, 1997; Ord. 95-1 § 3, 1995).
