Grays Harbor Special Response Team
The Grays Harbor Special Response Team is a group of 16 officers and deputies from the Hoquiam Police Department and Grays Harbor County Sheriff’s Office.
These dedicated law enforcement professionals train as a team to respond to dangerous incidents such as armed barricaded suspects, hostage situations, and high-risk warrant service. All members of the team volunteer for the positions and are selected through a testing process and review of their job performance. In addition, each team member has a primary responsibility within the patrol or investigations division of their respective agency.
The SRT consists of 13 tactical team members and three critical incident negotiators. The tactical team includes nine entry specialists, two marksman scouts, and two precision marksman. With the exception of marksman duties, all members train in the various team roles in order to maintain continuity should someone not be available for a call-out.
The SRT maintains a readiness 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
